I’m going to be straight forward with you. We are looking for people that are the cream of the crop, the elite forces. As the Marines would say, “We’re looking for a few good men”, but obviously gender is no issue in respect to prayer, so any woman willing to commit herself to pray is very welcome. We’re looking for any who are willing to covenant before God, and express this promise openly to the encouragement of others, to strongly endeavor to set time aside weekly to stand in prayer before God to fulfill the admonition of this scripture:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
I am sad and ashamed to say that the American Church has not been known in recent decades as a praying Church……this is greatly to our discredit. I don’t know if you realize this, but if you are willing to consecrate one hour weekly to prayer, then you are a very great minority in Christian America today, there are few of you. If I was a betting man, which I am not, I would wager there are very few preachers in our nation today that consistently consecrate an hour weekly to God in prayer for any purpose, let alone our national good. (Which for many years of my life I did not either. I will admit I was way too distracted. We have all failed. However, it is time we turn from our failings and fulfill our duty as Christians to pray)
What is required to become an American Prayer Warrior?
That you determine before God that you will give yourself to fulfill at least the entrance level of prayer commitment, (which is one hour per/week. Which does not have to be completed in a single setting, but can be completed in smaller blocks of time) and I do not mean a light determination, I mean, if need be, a determination that you are willing to hurt yourself to fulfill. Then email to us your name, and the state in which you reside, and declare in that email that you have made this commitment before God, and wish to be recognized as An American Prayer Warrior. (GregoryDeHart@AnAmericanWatchman.com) We will post your name among others who themselves have publicly announced their commitment to be An American Prayer Warrior by strongly endeavoring to enter into the war room of prayer a minimum of one hour weekly.
If after fulfilling the basic one hour per week commitment for three months, and you wish to commit to additional hours of prayer weekly then we invite you to write back and tell us your weekly hourly commitment. We will then update your public declaration to reflect your commitment.
We don’t want your money. We don’t ask anything for ourselves. We only want your commitment before God to pray, and your willingness to publicly declare this commitment so that others may be encouraged to themselves surrender to God in prayer.
If at any time you wish to discontinue this commitment, then all you will need to do in respect to us is to send us an email stating so, and we will remove your name from the American Prayer Warrior Wall of Names Now, obviously in respect to the Holy Spirit’s conviction, as to whether you should, or should not continue as An American Prayer Warrior, that is 100% your business. Similar to the Vietnam Wall, our wall will possess names of warriors who are willing to die to self, and invest themselves to seek God in prayer in respect to His kingdom coming forth, which a part of that for all American Christians are concerns related to our nation and its people. Many a good man died during the Vietnam war to further what he thought was a righteous cause in the earth, and thus his name appears on the Vietnam Wall. Will you die to self, and in that death to self, surrender to the Holy Spirit’s conviction to pray?
Remember, and do not forget. When you promise to strongly endeavor to fulfill your prayer commitment weekly, that others will view your name, and they will take you at your word, that you are in fact striving to fulfill your commitment.
We suggest four basic priorities of prayer:
National and civil concerns
Marriage, family, and extended family concerns
Church, missionary, Christian organizations, and for those without Messiah
- Personal ministry and employment concerns
We recognize four levels of prayer commitment:
Prayer Warrior One (One who commits to one hour of prayer weekly)
Prayer Warrior Two (One who commits to two hours of prayer weekly)
Prayer Warrior Three (One who commits to three hours of prayer weekly)
- Prayer Warrior Four (One who commits to four, or more hours of prayer weekly)
Thank you, and may YeHoVah our God, may He work His purpose in our people and nation, and in the peoples and nations of the world. May He visit our people, and the peoples of the world with the outpouring of His presence! Amen
Remember it is written:
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit
upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your
old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
(Joel 2:28-29 KJV)
It has also been said,
In this world of give and take, there are too few people willing to give what it takes!
