Moses, A Picture Of Christ

Moses, A Picture Of Christ

Simply put, the attempt of this article is to give glory to Yeshua (Yeshua is the Hebrew name for the One whom most English speaking people call Jesus) our Lord by expressing a few of the ways the Eternal One, in and through the life of His servant Moses established pictures of the great egyptrealities that were to come to pass in the life of Christ. Thus enabling people to more perfectly see the numerous characteristic of Yeshua and of the salvation He provides for the people of faith. This is possible only because of the reality that Yehovah (Yehovah is the ancient and eternal name of God almighty – Pronounced, Ye-Ho-Vah) is eternally wise and in control of every aspect of every event and life, so that He can, as He chooses, use them to illustrate heavenly realities.

Moses – According to Josephus, who was a Jewish historian who lived about the time of Christ spoke of Egyptian prophets who lived at the time of Moses that had foretold that a deliver was to be born that would free the Hebrew captives from their Egyptian masters. In fact, according to Josephus this prophecy was the reason why Pharaoh (The king of Egypt) ordered the midwives to kill all new born Hebrew sons, for he hoped to eliminate the deliverer that was foretold. (Exodus chapter one)

CHRIST – The Mighty One set a star in the heavens and opened the minds of a few men to understand that this star signaled that a King and Great Deliverer was to be born among the Jews. (Mathew 2:1-2)

babyMoses – Came into the world at Yehovah’s appointed time. (Exodus 2:23-25——Ex. 3:1-10) This is a thing that the faithful come to understand. Yehovah does everything on time.

CHRIST – Was born at the appointed time, not a day late, not a day early. (Daniel 9: 23-27, Galatians 4:4)

babymosesMoses – Although sought out by his enemies to be appointed to death was by God’s power delivered. (Ex. 2: 1-10)

Moses – Came by Yehovah’s hand at the response to the prayer of Yehovah’s people. (Exodus 2:23-25, Ex. 3:7)

CHRIST – Came by the Father’s hand at the response of the prayer of Yehovah’s people, even in spite of our short comings. (Luke 1:10, Luke 2:25-26, Luke 2: 36-38, Zechariah 7:5-6, Isaiah 58:9-14) Furthermore, a concert of prayer will be one of the signal characteristic that mark Yeshua second coming.

draingMoses – Came as a savior to his people. For not only was their deliverance from the Egyptians chiefly by his hand, but at the same time it must be remembered that it was Moses who spent 40 days and night without food or water on his face before Yehovah interceding before Yehovah so that the people would not be destroyed for their rebellion. (Deuteronomy 9:18) It was Moses who by Yehovah’s power led the believing people into Arabia by parting the Red Sea. Also it was he who by Yehovah’s instruction brought forth laws pertaining to the atoning sacrifices, which in a temporary sense brought deliverance from sin. (Leviticus 4:1-12, 4: 13-21, 4:22-35, 5:6-11, 5:15-19, 6, 1-7, 16:1-34, 23:26-33)

CHRIST – Was pronounced by the angel Gabriel to be the Savior of the world. His salvation brings to each as they believe not only the forgiveness of sin, but a completely clear conscience before God, and deliverance from every work of Satan in their lives. prayMoses – Came as a healer, and as such was commanded by Yehovah to place a brass snake on a stick so that the people would be healed when they looked upon it. (Numbers 21:8-9)

CHRIST – Came as the great healer. This power was at work both in His personal ministry, and has been at work since then in the lives and ministry of those who operate in His name. He being nailed to the cross was the fulfillment of the act of Moses who created a brass snake that was placed on a stick for the people to look at and be healed, Yeshua became sin on a stick, (A Roman cross) so that when we look to Him we may be healed of sin and sickness. (Acts 10:38, Mark 16: 15-18, Matthew 10:7-8, John 3:14)

Thus fulfilling the forecasts of the prophets which promised that Yehovah’s law would be written on men’s hearts. (Jeremiah 31:31, Hebrews 10: 15-17, Isaiah 42:1-6)

tabletsMoses – Came as a prophet concerning whom it was said that he spoke face to face with Yehovah. There he not only received the Ten Commandments, but the entirety of the Torah (Exodus 20: 18-22, Ex. 33:11)

CHRIST – Came as that great prophet whose life and ministry was foretold by Moses. (Deuteronomy 18:-19) Yeshua was that great prophet concerning which Yehovah had spoken that the people must hear and obey. Yeshua did not need to climb a mountain to meet with His Father, nor did He need to ascend up to heaven, and that is because He came forth from the every bosom of the Father, from a place and position of perfect and full understanding of God. (John 1:18, John 5:19-20, John 5:30, John 6:57, John 7:28-29, John 8:28)

scrollMoses – Came as a deliverer. (Exodus 3:10 & 20:2)

CHRIST – Came into the world to deliver men from every sort of bondage. This starts by the Holy Spirit (Acts 26:18) administering grace to the hearts of men thus drawing them to the truth, to Yeshua, (John 8: 32) resulting in the Believer being freed from sin and it’s condemnation, thereby allowing the Believer to enter into the perfect liberty of the children of God. This liberty, is meant of God to bring forth deliverance from all of life’s oppressions: disease, poverty, oppressive men and governments. However, the complete fullness of this salvation will only be realized in the life that is to come when sin and rebellion shall be extremely minimized in the earth, and completely removed in respect to those who will be children of the resurrection. (Romans 9:19-21) Until then we can know the liberty of spirit in fullness, but the complete liberty of the whole person of man in all details will only be fully experienced at the time when the fullness of our salvation is brought forth. (1 Corinthians 13:9-12, 2 Co. 3:17, Galatians 5:1, 5:13, 1 Peter 1:8-13)
